I shot this short video of one of my favorite cycles. I used my Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 M42 Pentax lens adapted to my Canon EOS 5D MkII under a hot light to get the shots. This is my first real attempt at shooting and processing any video. I have to say I am quite pleased and look forward to working with HD video on future projects, especially in concert with these vintage manual lenses… drool.

Aug. 18, 2009Wow! Great video!
I was just thinking about the possibilities of this lens/video combination and had actually started the process of tracking down a Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 . Inspiring!

Aug. 18, 2009Hey Corey
Thanks allot! Its a great lens to have, for photos as well! Though with the 5D MkII the rear element of the Takumar 50mm f1.4 and the cameras mirror will jam when the lens is focused at infinity… I solved that problem by putting a shim between the lens and EOS adapter.
Good luck getting your 50mm f1.4, I cant wait to see some shots of some big old Brown Trout with it!
